This region of Andalusia offers a wealth
of outdoor and cultural activities. For
non-surfing guests, or on any
non-surfing days, our guides can
organise for you an alternative
activity. Below is a selection of some
of the most popular……..
Mountain biking
Our guides know a range of biking
routes, ranging from easy to difficult.
On any biking trip you will pass through
a typical Andalucian town, stop for
refreshments or tapas and have the
opportunity to explore more of the local
countryside.
Climbing
For the more adventurous we can organise
a days climbing in the stunning
countryside of Tarifa. Fully qualified,
English speaking climbing instructors
will show you the basics, or take you to
the next level of outdoor rock climbing.
Once reaching the top of any of the
routes, you can see fantastic views of
the bays of Tarifa and of Morocco!!
Horse Riding
Andalusia is famous for its horses, and
horse back is a great way to explore
this region. Our local, English speaking
guides will lead you to some
breath-taking views and through rural
country side as well as teaching you how
to be a more competent rider.
Hiking
If you prefer to explore on your own two
feet, our guides can take you, or direct
you to a range of different routes. All
the routes include a variety of scenery
including golden beaches, pine forests,
rugged cliff tops and nature reserves.
One of our favourites takes you to the
Trafalgar Headland, from where the
famous battle of Trafalgar took place!
Cadiz - City Visit
From Conil, the historic city of Cadiz
(the province’s capital city) is only 40
minutes away. The city is on a peninsula
and the old town is surrounded by water.
You will catch a glimpse of the ocean by
looking down any of the salt washed
streets!! The charm of the city of Cadiz
cannot be compared to any other. The
small back streets will eventually lead
you onto another open square, where you
may find flower stalls, music or small
bars cooking up freshly caught fish!!
Our guides will provide you with a map,
take you to the bus stop and recommend
the best places to eat and visit.
Wine and Sherry tours
The city of Jerez, 45 minutes away from
Conil, is Spain’s largest sherry
producing area. In fact Jerez means
Sherry in Spanish!! Wine and brandy are
also produced in the area and there are
a number of Bodegas (wineries) in Jerez
to visit. You can take a tour where you
will be shown the steps in sherry
making, visit the vineyards and of
course sample a few of the different
varieties of sherry! |
